A quick and creamy stovetop mac and cheese made with just three ingredients and no roux.

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook macaroni according to package directions. Drain.
  2. Return macaroni to the pot. Add milk and heat over medium heat, stirring constantly, until milk is hot but not boiling.
  3. Remove pot from heat. Gradually add shredded cheddar cheese, stirring until cheese is melted and sauce is smooth.
  4. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can use other types of cheese like Colby Jack or a cheese blend.
  • For a richer sauce, use whole milk.
