Cook perfectly flaky and juicy salmon with a crispy exterior in your air fryer in just 12 minutes. This simple lemon garlic butter preparation makes a healthy, low-carb weeknight salmon dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried dill
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Lemon slices, for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the salmon fillets completely dry using paper towels. This step helps achieve a crispy texture.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the olive oil, garlic powder, dill, salt, and pepper. Brush this mixture evenly over the top and sides of the salmon fillets.
  3. Preheat your air fryer to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius) for 5 minutes.
  4. Place the seasoned salmon fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Do not overlap them.
  5. Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, depending on the thickness of the fillets, until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. While the salmon cooks, prepare the lemon garlic butter: In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, and fresh lemon juice. Stir well.
  7. Once the salmon is done, remove it carefully from the air fryer. Brush the lemon garlic butter mixture generously over the top of each hot fillet.
  8. Serve immediately with fresh lemon slices. This is a quick salmon dinner ready fast.

Notes

  • For extra crispy skin, place the salmon skin-side down first and cook for 4 minutes before brushing the top with the oil mixture and continuing to cook.
  • If your fillets are very thick (over 1.5 inches), you may need to add 1 to 2 extra minutes to the cooking time.
  • This recipe is excellent for meal prep; simply reheat leftovers in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes at 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
