Ingredients
Scale
1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined (thawed if frozen)
2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
3 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Lemon wedges (for serving)
Instructions
If using frozen shrimp, thaw them completely and pat them very dry with paper towels. Place the shrimp in a medium bowl.
In a small bowl, mix the melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Pour this mixture over the shrimp and toss until every piece is coated.
Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius) for 3 minutes.
Place the seasoned shrimp in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Do not overcrowd the basket; cook in batches if necessary to ensure crispiness.
Air fry for 6 to 8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time.
Remove the basket from the air fryer. Immediately sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the hot shrimp and toss gently to coat.
Serve the crispy air fryer shrimp immediately with fresh parsley and lemon wedges.
Notes
Patting the shrimp very dry before seasoning helps achieve the best crispy texture in the air fryer.
For a low carb air fryer shrimp option, serve these shrimp over zucchini noodles or a side salad instead of rice or pasta.
If you prefer a different flavor, substitute the Italian seasoning and Parmesan with 1 teaspoon of Old Bay seasoning for an Old Bay air fryer shrimp variation.
