Make tender, flaky salmon quickly with this easy baked salmon recipe featuring a bright lemon garlic butter sauce. This dish is perfect for a fast weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 (6 ounce) salmon fillets, skin on or off
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Lemon slices, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil for easy cleanup.
  2. Place the salmon fillets on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, minced garlic, lemon juice, parsley, salt, and pepper.
  4. Spoon the lemon garlic butter mixture evenly over the top of each salmon fillet.
  5. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time depends on the thickness of your fillets.
  6. Remove from the oven. Garnish with fresh lemon slices if desired before serving.

Notes

  • For extra moisture, you can bake the salmon in a foil packet. Seal the edges tightly before baking.
  • If you prefer a restaurant-style glaze, add 1 teaspoon of honey to the butter mixture.
  • This recipe cooks fast, so watch carefully to prevent the salmon from drying out.
