Make this easy Caramel Apple Dump Cake using only four ingredients for a warm, gooey, comforting fall dessert with minimal preparation.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (21 ounce) can apple pie filling
  • 1 (15.25 ounce) box yellow cake mix
  • 1 cup caramel bits or 1 cup caramel sauce
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Spread the entire can of apple pie filling evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
  3. Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the apple layer. Do not mix.
  4. Distribute the caramel bits evenly over the cake mix layer. If using caramel sauce, drizzle it over the top.
  5. Pour the melted butter evenly over the entire surface of the cake mix and caramel.
  6. Bake for 45 to 55 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly around the edges.
  7. Let the dump cake cool for at least 15 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • Serve this warm dessert with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for extra indulgence.
  • For a richer flavor, you can substitute the yellow cake mix with a butter pecan cake mix.
  • If you do not have caramel bits, use 1/2 cup of thick caramel sauce drizzled over the dry mix before adding the butter.
  • This recipe works well in a slow cooker on low for 3 to 4 hours; cover the dish with foil before placing the lid on the slow cooker.
