A festive and vibrant red holiday margarita perfect for parties, featuring tart cranberry and pomegranate flavors. This recipe can be made by the glass or batched for a crowd.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 oz tequila
  • 1 oz orange liqueur (like Cointreau or Triple Sec)
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice
  • 2 oz cranberry juice
  • 1 oz pomegranate juice
  • Optional: Sugar or salt for rimming the glass
  • Optional: Fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, or rosemary sprig for garnish

Instructions

  1. If desired, prepare your margarita glasses by moistening the rim with a lime wedge and dipping it in sugar or salt.
  2. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  3. Add tequila, orange liqueur, fresh lime juice, cranberry juice, and pomegranate juice to the shaker.
  4. Secure the lid and shake well until the outside of the shaker is frosty.
  5. Strain the mixture into your prepared margarita glass filled with fresh ice.
  6. Garnish with fresh cranberries, pomegranate arils, or a rosemary sprig, if desired.
  7. For a pitcher, multiply the ingredients by the number of servings needed. Combine all liquid ingredients in a pitcher and stir well. Chill until ready to serve. Pour into ice-filled glasses and garnish.

Notes

  • For a mocktail version, replace tequila and orange liqueur with extra cranberry and pomegranate juice, and add a splash of sparkling water or non-alcoholic spirits.
  • Adjust the sweetness by adding a touch of simple syrup if you prefer a sweeter drink.
  • The tartness can be adjusted by varying the amount of lime, cranberry, and pomegranate juices.
