Ingredients
Scale
1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup heavy cream
4 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/4 cup powdered sugar (optional, for extra sweetness)
Instructions
Place the chocolate chips and heavy cream in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each, until the chocolate is fully melted and the mixture is smooth. This creates a ganache base.
In a separate medium bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until it is light and fluffy.
Gradually add the melted chocolate mixture to the cream cheese, beating on low speed until just combined. Scrape down the sides of the bowl.
Add the vanilla extract and powdered sugar (if using). Beat until the dip is completely smooth, creamy, and resembles brownie batter.
Serve immediately while warm, or chill for 30 minutes for a thicker consistency.
Notes
For a perfect dipping chocolate that hardens, use only chocolate chips and 1 tablespoon of coconut oil; skip the cream cheese and cream. Melt together and use for coating strawberries or pretzels.
Serve this dip with fresh strawberries, apple slices, marshmallows, graham crackers, or salty pretzels.
If the dip becomes too thick after chilling, microwave it for 10 seconds to restore a softer texture.
