Make these simple, elegant Cranberry Brie Bites using flaky puff pastry and creamy brie cheese. They offer a perfect sweet and savory balance for any party.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
  • 4 oz brie cheese, cut into small cubes
  • 1/4 cup cranberry sauce (whole berry or jellied)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped pecans or walnuts (optional)
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a mini muffin tin.
  2. Unroll the thawed puff pastry sheet on a lightly floured surface. Cut the pastry into 12 equal squares.
  3. Gently press each pastry square into the cups of the mini muffin tin, forming a small cup shape.
  4. Place one small cube of brie cheese into the bottom of each pastry cup.
  5. Top the brie with about 1/2 teaspoon of cranberry sauce. If using, sprinkle a few chopped nuts over the sauce.
  6. Brush the edges of the exposed pastry lightly with the beaten egg wash.
  7. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed, and the cheese is melted and gooey.
  8. Remove from the oven and let the bites cool in the tin for 5 minutes before carefully transferring them to a wire rack to cool slightly. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For a quicker prep, use pre-cut crescent roll dough instead of puff pastry, pressing the dough into the muffin cups.
  • If you prefer a savory bite, substitute the cranberry sauce with fig jam or a thin slice of prosciutto before adding the brie.
  • You can assemble these bites up to 4 hours ahead of time; keep them covered in the refrigerator and bake just before serving.
