Make these simple, savory sausage balls using cream cheese for a moist, cheesy interior. They are perfect for parties, game days, or any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground pork sausage
  • 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 2 cups Bisquick baking mix
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground sausage, softened cream cheese, Bisquick, and shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. Mix all ingredients thoroughly with your hands until they are fully incorporated. Do not overmix.
  4. Roll the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the balls onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between them.
  5. Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, or until the sausage balls are golden brown and cooked through.
  6. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly on the baking sheet before serving warm.

Notes

  • For a spicy kick, use hot pork sausage or add 1/2 cup of drained Rotel diced tomatoes and green chilies to the mixture.
  • You can prepare the balls ahead of time and store them covered in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours before baking.
  • These sausage balls freeze well. Place baked or unbaked balls on a tray to freeze solid, then transfer to a freezer bag. Bake from frozen, adding a few extra minutes to the cook time.
