Make this simple, light, and hydrating watermelon smoothie. It is perfect for hot weather, offering a naturally sweet and refreshing drink ready in minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups fresh, cubed watermelon (chilled or frozen for thicker texture)
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries
  • 1/2 cup cold water or unsweetened almond milk (use less for a thicker blend)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 small frozen banana (optional, for creaminess)

Instructions

  1. Place the cubed watermelon, frozen strawberries, cold water or almond milk, and lime juice into your blender.
  2. Add the frozen banana half, if you are using it for extra creaminess.
  3. Secure the lid and blend on high speed until the mixture is completely smooth and uniform. Stop and scrape down the sides if necessary.
  4. Taste the smoothie. If you desire more tartness, add a small squeeze more of lime juice and blend briefly.
  5. Pour the watermelon smoothie immediately into glasses and serve cold.

Notes

  • For a post-workout refreshment, add one scoop of your preferred vanilla or unflavored protein powder before blending.
  • To make this a low-calorie fruit smoothie, skip the banana and use only water as the liquid base.
  • If you prefer a sweeter taste without added sugar, use very ripe watermelon or add 1-2 pitted Medjool dates before blending.
  • For a thicker, bowl-style consistency, use only frozen watermelon and reduce the liquid to 1/4 cup.
