Ingredients

  • 4 cups water
  • 1 orange, sliced
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 2 tablespoons whole cloves
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Fill a medium saucepan with 4 cups of water.
  2. Add the sliced orange and sliced apples to the water.
  3. Add the cinnamon sticks and whole cloves to the pot.
  4. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat.
  5. Reduce the heat immediately to low so the mixture is just simmering.
  6. Stir in the vanilla extract.
  7. Let the potpourri simmer uncovered, adding more water every 30-45 minutes as needed to keep the ingredients submerged.
