Bake tender boneless chicken breasts covered in a rich, creamy garlic parmesan sauce for a simple, flavorful weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in the prepared baking dish. Drizzle with olive oil.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  4. Pour the sauce evenly over the chicken breasts.
  5. If using, sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top of the sauce.
  6. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  7. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, add 1/4 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese with the Parmesan.
  • This recipe works well with chicken thighs if you prefer a moister result.
  • Serve this dish over pasta or with steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
