Ingredients
Scale
3 ripe avocados
1/2 cup finely chopped red onion
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1–2 serrano peppers, minced (optional)
2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin (optional)
Instructions
Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a medium bowl.
Mash the avocado flesh with a fork to your desired consistency. For chunky guacamole, leave some larger pieces. For smoother guacamole, mash more thoroughly.
Add the chopped red onion, cilantro, minced serrano peppers (if using), lime juice, salt, and cumin (if using) to the bowl.
Stir everything together until well combined.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed. Add more salt or lime juice if desired.
Serve immediately or cover tightly with plastic wrap, pressing the wrap directly onto the surface of the guacamole to prevent browning. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
Notes
For best results, use ripe avocados. They should yield slightly to gentle pressure.
To prevent browning, ensure the plastic wrap is in direct contact with the guacamole’s surface. This minimizes air exposure.
You can adjust the amount of serrano pepper to control the spice level.
This guacamole is ideal for game day dips, Super Bowl snacks, Cinco de Mayo celebrations, or as a side for taco night.
