Bake boneless chicken breasts in a simple, creamy mayonnaise and Parmesan topping for a juicy, tender, and family-friendly weeknight dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup shredded mozzarella cheese (optional topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Place the chicken breasts in a single layer in the prepared baking dish.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Parmesan cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper. Mix until smooth.
  4. Spread the mayonnaise mixture evenly over the top of each chicken breast, covering them completely.
  5. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature of the chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  6. If using, sprinkle the mozzarella cheese over the top during the last 5 minutes of baking until melted and lightly golden.
  7. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Serve this juicy oven baked chicken over rice or alongside steamed green beans for a complete meal.
  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of paprika to the topping mixture.
  • This easy mayonnaise chicken recipe works well with chicken tenders if you reduce the baking time slightly.
