  • 1 lb sushi-grade Ahi tuna steak
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Sesame seeds, for garnish
  • Green onions, sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, ginger, and garlic to make the glaze.
  2. Pat the tuna steak dry with paper towels.
  3. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
  4. Sear the tuna steak for 1-2 minutes per side for rare, or longer for your desired doneness.
  5. Remove tuna from skillet and let it rest for a minute.
  6. Slice the tuna steak against the grain.
