Make soft, fluffy Strawberry Cheesecake Sweet Rolls that taste like bakery-style treats. These indulgent pastries feature a sweet strawberry filling, a creamy cheesecake swirl, and are finished with a rich cream cheese glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14.2 ounces) refrigerated pizza dough or sweet roll dough
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup (1/2 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 1/4 cup strawberry jam or preserves
  • 1/2 cup fresh strawberries, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the dough: If using refrigerated pizza dough, let it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes. If using pre-made sweet roll dough, follow package directions for softening.
  2. Make the cheesecake swirl mixture: In a small bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, 1/4 cup powdered sugar, and 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth. Set aside.
  3. Prepare the filling: In another bowl, mix the 1/2 cup granulated sugar, flour, and cinnamon. Stir in the melted butter until combined.
  4. Roll out the dough: On a lightly floured surface, roll the dough into a large rectangle, about 12×18 inches.
  5. Spread the filling: Brush the entire surface of the dough evenly with the butter-sugar mixture.
  6. Add the cheesecake and strawberries: Dollop the cream cheese mixture randomly over the buttered dough. Drop spoonfuls of strawberry jam over the cream cheese. Sprinkle the chopped fresh strawberries over the top.
  7. Roll and cut: Starting from the long edge, tightly roll the dough into a log. Pinch the seam closed. Cut the log into 12 equal rolls.
  8. Second rise: Place the rolls cut-side up in a greased 9×13 inch baking dish. Cover loosely with plastic wrap and let them rise in a warm place for 30 to 45 minutes, or until puffy.
  9. Bake: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Bake the rolls for 20 to 25 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Make the glaze: While the rolls cool slightly, whisk together the 1/2 cup powdered sugar, 2 tablespoons milk, and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract until smooth. Add more milk if needed for a thinner consistency.
  11. Glaze and serve: Drizzle the cream cheese glaze generously over the warm sweet rolls. Serve immediately for the best texture.

Notes

  • For a richer cheesecake flavor, use 4 ounces of cream cheese in the swirl mixture.
  • If you want a brighter strawberry flavor, lightly mash the fresh strawberries before adding them to the dough.
  • These bakery style sweet rolls are best eaten the day they are made.
