Assemble a fun, no-cook turkey-shaped snack board perfect for grazing before your Thanksgiving meal. This platter uses cheese, fruit, and crackers for an easy centerpiece.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block cream cheese (8 oz)
  • 1/4 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup seedless red grapes
  • 1 cup seedless green grapes
  • 1 cup baby carrots
  • 1/2 cup pretzel sticks
  • 1/4 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 box assorted crackers
  • 2 black olives, halved (for eyes)

Instructions

  1. Soften the cream cheese slightly at room temperature.
  2. Mix the softened cream cheese with the chopped pecans in a small bowl.
  3. Shape the cream cheese mixture into a small oval or ball to form the turkey’s head. Place this on your serving board.
  4. Arrange the shredded cheddar cheese in a large, wide fan shape on the board to create the turkey’s body and tail feathers.
  5. Place the cream cheese head at the top center of the cheddar ‘tail’.
  6. Use two halves of black olives to create eyes on the cream cheese head.
  7. Arrange the red and green grapes around the cheddar cheese to fill out the tail area and add color.
  8. Place the baby carrots around the head area to form the beak.
  9. Insert pretzel sticks into the cheddar cheese near the head to represent the turkey’s legs.
  10. Arrange the assorted crackers around the edges of the platter for easy dipping and serving.
  11. Use sliced almonds to add texture or detail to the tail feathers if desired.

Notes

  • You can assemble this entire platter up to four hours ahead of time. Cover it loosely with plastic wrap and keep it refrigerated until 30 minutes before serving.
  • For a kid friendly holiday snacks option, substitute some of the cheese with cubes of mild white cheddar or mozzarella balls.
  • This platter works well as a healthy Thanksgiving appetizer if you focus on fruit and vegetable components.
