Make this creamy, luxurious whipped ricotta dip topped with spicy hot honey. It is a quick, no-bake appetizer perfect for parties or entertaining.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 15 ounces whole milk ricotta cheese, drained if watery
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup hot honey (or more to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon chopped walnuts (optional, for garnish)
  • Fresh rosemary sprigs (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Place the drained ricotta cheese, olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and pepper into a food processor.
  2. Process the mixture for 1 to 2 minutes, stopping to scrape down the sides as needed, until the ricotta is completely smooth and fluffy.
  3. Transfer the whipped ricotta to a shallow serving bowl. Use the back of a spoon to create a slight well or swirl on top.
  4. Drizzle the hot honey evenly over the surface of the dip.
  5. Garnish with chopped walnuts and small sprigs of fresh rosemary, if you are using them.
  6. Serve immediately with crostini, crackers, or fresh vegetables for dipping.

Notes

  • If you do not have a food processor, you can use a high-powered blender or a stand mixer with the whisk attachment. Whip until very smooth.
  • To make this a savory dip instead of sweet and spicy, skip the hot honey and top with finely chopped garlic, fresh herbs, and a drizzle of good quality olive oil.
  • This dip pairs well with sparkling wine for an elegant appetizer experience.
